Please, could you tell me what manufactures supply DPSS lasers ( 20-1000mW, visible spector) and what prices are asked. Most sites of companies manufacturing laser equipment supply only technical details of their products, not the prices asked.
I hope, you can help me with this. Thanks.
20-1000mW is a huge range for power and cost will vary considerably. You should also consider your other specifications (cw/pulsed, wavelength, beam stability, beam divergence) as these will vary from laser to laser.

This book basically gives the over view about The properties of erbiumdoped fiber amplifier (EDFA) such as gain and noise figure have been studied. By determining the characteristics of the 980nm, 1480nm 1550nm laser sources and ASE (amplified spontaneous emission) at the output of the amplifier used to determine the gain and noise figure of EDFA. This model allows to follow the signal (1550nm), pump (980nm) and ASE as they propagate along the fiber and determine population inversion .The both forward and backward propagation ASE are important in determining the overall gain and noise figure. For the amplification of more than 80 channels the DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing) has required CBand (15251565)nm and LBand (15651610)nm EDFA.We show that a flat gain spectrum can be achieved in the range from 1565 to 1610 nm when the EDF length, pump power and pump configuration are appropriately chosen. Special care must be taken when selecting the EDF length. In this book, the design of InGaN LDs structures including multi quantum wells (MQWs) active region device are described and investigated by integrated system engineering technology computer aided design (ISE TCAD) device simulator. The parameters of the LDs structures are varied and optimized for high performance. This optimization study involves aspects such as thickness of active region, doping, thickness of stopper layer region, thickness of quantum wells and quantum barriers, number of quantum wells and several approaches to improve and achieve high efficiency, low threshold current and high output power of InGaN LDs. The basic LDs structures treated here are FabryPerot type InGaN double heterostructure (DH), separate confinement heterostructure (SCH) and multi quantum wells (MQWs).High performance LD has been obtained by using multi quantum wells incorporated with the optimized parameters. The lowest threshold current, higher external quantum efficiency and characteristic temperature are obtained when the number of InGaN well layers is two, at our laser emission wavelength of 415 nm, which is related to the problem of inhomogeneous carrier. Enterococc faecalis considered to be the mostresistant bacteria of the root canal, in the presentstudy we used two types of root canal disinfectant toshow their effect on this type of bacteria, the firstis the diode laser and the second NaOCl solution withspecial concentrations and times. the study conductedon human decoronated extracted teeth, adjusted with13mm root length, filled with a suspension of E.faecalis, Samples were divided into 14 groups eachgroup consisted of 10 prepared roots, sixty sampleswere irrigated with NaOCl solution at differentconcentrations (0.5, 2.5 and 5.25) at twoselected times (2 minutes and 5 minutes) for eachconcentration.Sixty samples were irradiated at different powers (2W, 2.5W and 3W); each power at thetotal irradiation time 30 and 60 seconds. Whencomparison was made between NaOCl irrigant and diodelaser in a combination among differentconcentrations, powers and times the result showedthat 5.25 NaOCl at both 2 minutes and 5 minutes hadthe highest antimicrobial effect with no significantdifferences from 3W laser / 10 sec (6 cycles) butsignificantly different from 3W / 5 sec (6 cycles). Okay, just about everyone has a red laser pointer. Heck, we even sell a fine one here at ThinkGeek. But, we're pretty sure you want to be a superior geek - and doing it with a green laser is the way to go. This pointer is significantly brighter (about 50 times) than a red laser pointer and because of its unusual color it is much more noticeable. I mean come on, a 532 nm green laser wavelength is obviously superior to a laughable 650 nm red laser wavelength. And unlike a red laser, the green beam itself can be seen in mid-air in dark conditions, not just the laser beam dot. This allows the green laser pointer to be used for pointing to star constellations (skypointing) and also just generally look cool as hell. The green laser beam dot can be seen at much greater distances than with a red laser pointer. Since green direct injection laser diodes aren't readily available, this pointer is based on the use of Diode Pumped Solid State Frequency Doubled (DPSSFD) laser technology. A high power IR laser diode at 808 nm pumps a tiny block of Nd:YVO4 generating light at 1,064 nm which feeds a KTP intracavity frequency doubler crystal to produce the green beam at 532 nm. Features of this unit include: Very bright green laser at 532 nm wavelength Output power of Range of approximately 9,000 ft (2600 m) in darkness 1.1 mm beam diameter at source Momentary push button switch Solid, heavy duty construction Constant wave output (as opposed to pulse output) Takes 2 "AAA" batteries (not included) Can be used for skypointing, projection on low clouds, signaling, highlighting potential explosives Dimensions: 5.6" x .5" dia 90-day warranty Available in Black or Silver color Interested in quantity discounts or custom logo imprinting? More on Optic Fibres...?
Question 3:
What kind of light is used for transmissions in a an OpticFibre?
a. Ordinary high intensity light (Xenon gas-discharge)?
b. Diode laser?
c. Ruby laser?
d. Carbon Dioxide ("Gas-Pumped") laser?
e. Something I haven't heard of yet?
There are various advantages, which make Optical Fibres better than Copper systems. The crucial operating difference between a fibre optic communication system and other types is that signals are transmitted as light. Conventional electronic communication relies on electrons passing through wires. Radio frequency and microwave communications rely on radio waves and microwaves travelling through open space. The major points which distinguish it on positive side are
Low transmission loss and wide Bandwidth:
Small size and Weight
Immunity to interference
Electrical Isolation
Signal Security
Abundant Raw materials
Fibres are not prone to Thefts
