Diode Pin transformer led capacitor and transistor?
i have a charger which i broke . it has a led which illuminates for 1 min even after the charger is removed from mains supply.
it has a 400 v 4.7micro farad capacitor 2 transistor and a transformer arranged in some manner.
there is one more capacitor of 470 Micro farads and 16v and one pin of led is attached to it.
what could be the circuit or how it may be working.
is it related to the discharging time of the voltage of the capacitor and the transformers which lowers it and changes to current.

The transformer in this case is generally Step down type, and the output AC Voltage is converted to DC Voltage with the circuit and the voltage is also controlled with the help of transistors and the capacitor. The LED is for the indication that the charger is ON. This will be on for some time after switch off, of course is due to the discharge time taken by the capacitor.
In case you are not sure of any of the stuff don't try to fiddle with the charger. In case you wish to try then check the components one by on and try to replace exact size & type of them with new one. You may get succeed. Wish you all the best.

hi friends..
i am trying to study a MM74HC4046 and had a few doubts.
does it require any source frequency or it can itself provide pulses.
can the vco out and comparator in be directly connected or we need a frequency divider. if i want a frequency of 3.5 MHz can i directly connect the two pins if not which ic shall i use?
can we use zener diodes to regulate the voltage since i would be powering it from 12 v and ic needs just 4.5 volts in normal use?
if i am trying to use thes circuit for my desulfator can zener diode still be used?
