Diode Clamping Circuit

How does AC voltage clamping work, just the concept?

im trying to create an amplifying circuit using a transistor, but u noe how the transistors are kinda like two diodes put together? kind of... u noe what i mean, with the two junctions between the npn,
so, when i input the input signal, half of the cycle will be clipped off. because of the fact that the transistor will not allow reverse biasing w/ the npn. so, to prevent this, my engineering teacher told me to put a cap in the circuit to clamp that null part of the signal up higher, so that the whole input cycle will now be on the positive, just a matter of HoW positive it is, which is now the signal the transistor will use to amplify it annd get a full wave out instead of having the negative half clipped after amplification.

what i want to know is how does this clamping work, how can you clamp the null point of the wave on the positive or negative half. i would like to know how this works "conceptually", like tell me the process.

thanks

Next time you post, please check your spelling, this is very difficult to read.

You do not need a clamp circuit to amplify an AC signal, your teacher is incorrect. What you need is a bias circuit. A bias circuit places the transistor at a point where it is already drawing current, so the AC signal can modulate that current to result in an AC voltage output.

Read up on Transistor bias circuits. The reference has examples.

The second reference has lots of info on transistor amplifiers. Basically you bias the transistor correctly and couple the AC signals in and out with series capacitors.
