Diode Amplifier Circuits

What is the purpose of those things in Operational Amplifier (Op-Amp) circuit?
I'm doing a self-study on op-amps for a hobby but I am having a hard time finding the purpose or function of the 4 op-amps on an oscillator circuit which has two 3-volt zener diodes. What is the frequency of oscillation and how will I compute the oscillation? Pls. Help me....
Read your question. How can anyone answer without seeing the schematic?
There are an infinite number of ways to connect 4 op amps and 2 zener diodes.

Circuits for Electronic Instrumentation $221.44 This book is an uptodate text on electronic circuit design for people who like to learn electronics by building circuits and making measurements. The subject is dealt with from an experimental point of view, but this has not restricted the author to wellknown or simple circuits. Indeed, some very recent and quite advanced circuit ideas are put forward. Each chapter takes up a particular type of circuit, and then leads the reader to gain an understanding of how these circuits work by proposing experimental circuits for the reader to build and measure. Examples discussed include step recovery circuits of the digitizing oscilloscope, sampling gate and fast comparator circuits, probe and input circuits, wideband amplifier and waveformgenerating circuits, and switched capacitor, phase locked loop, and low noise circuits. HighLinearity CMOS RF FrontEnd Circuits $173.58 This monograph presents techniques to improve the performance of linear integrated circuits (IC) in CMOS at high frequencies. Those circuits are primarily used in radiofrequency (RF) frontends of wireless communication systems, such as low noise amplifiers (LNA) and mixers in a receiver and power amplifiers (PA) in a transmitter. A novel linearization technique is presented. With a small tradeoff of gain and power consumption this technique can improve the linearity of the majority of circuits by tens of dB. Particularly, for modern CMOS processes, most of which has device matching better than 1, the distortion can be compressed by up to 40 dB at the output. A prototype LNA has been fabricated in a 0.25um CMOS process, with a measured +18 dBm IIP3. This technique improves the dynamic range of a receiver RF frontend by 12 dB. A new class of power amplifier (parallel class AB) is also presented to extend the linear operation range and save the DC power consumption. It has been shown by both simulations and measurements that the new PA doubles the maximum output power and reduces the DC power consumption by up to 50. Study of Laser Diode and Edfa $111.53 This book basically gives the over view about The properties of erbiumdoped fiber amplifier (EDFA) such as gain and noise figure have been studied. By determining the characteristics of the 980nm, 1480nm 1550nm laser sources and ASE (amplified spontaneous emission) at the output of the amplifier used to determine the gain and noise figure of EDFA. This model allows to follow the signal (1550nm), pump (980nm) and ASE as they propagate along the fiber and determine population inversion .The both forward and backward propagation ASE are important in determining the overall gain and noise figure. For the amplification of more than 80 channels the DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing) has required CBand (15251565)nm and LBand (15651610)nm EDFA.We show that a flat gain spectrum can be achieved in the range from 1565 to 1610 nm when the EDF length, pump power and pump configuration are appropriately chosen. Special care must be taken when selecting the EDF length. Operational Amplifier Noise (Hardcover) $119.16 Arthur Kay`s exciting new publication is a must have for practicing, professional electrical engineers. This comprehensive guide shows engineers how to design amplifiers and associated electronics to minimize noise, providing tricks, rules-of-thumb, and analysis to create successful low noise circuits. Forget the classical textbook traps of equations, virtual grounds, and a lot of double-speak, the novel but educational presentation used here uses definition-by -example and straight-forward analysis. This is the ultimate reference book for engineers who don`t have the time to read, since the concepts are presented in detailed pictures and then repeated in the text for those who like both. Operational amplifiers play a vital role in modern electronics design. Today, op amps serve as the interfaces between the digital world of microprocessors, microcontrollers, and other digital circuits and the analog "real world". If an analog signal must be amplified, conditioned, filtered, or converted to be used by a digital system, an op amp is almost always involved. Noise is an unwanted signal that will corrupt or distort the desired signal, and veteran engineers as well as new college graduates are often faced with a lack of experience in noise analysis for operational amplifiers. The author has created a publication that is packed with essential information, while still being accessible to all readers. * Clear, definition-by-example presentation allows for immediate use of techniques introduced;* Tricks and rules-of-thumb, derived from author`s decades of experience;* Extreme use of figures for rapid absorption of concepts; * Concise text explains the key points in all figures; * Accessible to all types of readers; * Analysis and design of low-noise circuits using op amps, including design tradeoffs for low-noise;* Desktop reference for designing low-noise op amp circuits for novice to experienced engineers;* Accurate measu |

Is this the problem with my brothers broken amp?? (it's the circuit)?
k check this out, my brother's fender amp that he has blew a fuse and when we put a new fuse in it blew it instantly..apparently, as we've looked online, this is common with the model amp that he has. so i was able to get a schematic diagram for the amplifier and this is what came up:
http://www.manualnguide.com/dl/10178/
you have to click on the download and view button near the top
look at parts CR5 and CR6 near the main amplifier chip near the bottom. i found on the actual circuit board that these diodes were completely shot. i tested them with a 9v battery and my multimeter and the current flowed both directions with maybe half a volt drop. these diodes effectively prevent a short circuit correct? so since these failed, this is what caused the fuse to blow and continue to keep blowing right? and if i replace these diodes with either a higher current/voltage rating (tho i think at 23 volts it's the current that blew it) it will fix the problem?
CR5 and CR6 protect the output of the power amplifier from being pulled higher than the supply rails by the inductive "kick" of the speaker and the fact that a speaker also acts like a generator. CR5&6, 1N4003 are rated at 200 volts reverse and 1 amp continuous. You may want to try replacing them with 1N5402. (www.digikey.com)
