Has anyone taken an early pregnancy test? If so how early and was it accurate?

I think I may be pregnant and just dying to find out. I think it is too early to take a test. My cycle is due on the 2nd of June. How early can I take a test and feel comfortable with the result?
I have all kinds of symptoms and everyone is telling me I am pregnant but unless my friends and husband have come equipped with HCG detectors I am afraid to go solely on their predictions!! I don't want to get too excited or have the let down of a false negative... suggestions and experience welcomed!!

Buy a First Response test. They can test 5 days in advance of your missed period, but you can always take one now just to see. The box comes with three test strips, so take one now, and if it is negative, take one again if you miss your period.
