I have a 5 year old computer and I just upgraded to a new monitor?

I just purchased a 22" Acer computer monitor with a native resolution of 1680 x 1550. My current monitor doesn't go up that high. Will my new monitor still work? It has a VGA cable.

Your new monitor will work, but it may not take advantage of your its high resolution. The resolution your computer can generate will be based on the max your video card can generate.
