Controller Modules I would like to ask about an RF micro-controller project I have in my mind.?
Is there anyone or any company out there who can make an RF transmitter with 1/2/3 on/off switches, which will control 1/2/3 receiver modules respectively so that they can perform on/off functions (Just like remote operated switches). I would like to have a complete report for this project including :
1) Components used & cost
2) Programming of Ic
3) Equipment needed to complete this project
In a nutshell, I would like to know everything upto a point where I can perform all of this by myself.
I am happy to pay any resonable cost to have the complete knowledge of this project.

I would like the project to be from scratch as I would like to make it myself. It needs to be as cost effective as possible and I need full knowledge of it as I should be able to customise it later to operate 1/2/3/4 switches.
You are going to need to nail down your specifications. What countries are you going to sell this to? The radio regulations are tricky things to get right. How are you going to meet EMC regulations? What range do you need? 5 metres is cheaper than 5 miles.
So in other words, do a complete specification of "what" you want the system to achieve. Then come back and we will tell you "how" to get there.
I'd look at the market and buy similar home automation products or radio control model sets and take them apart to see what is involved.

MIDI Controller vs Keyboard, <$750??
For playing live, would it be better to go with a keyboard, or a midi controller combined with a sound module?
1) Whatever it is it has to be light and durable.
2) I foremost need a selection of good sounding bread and butters like piano, strings, harp, and organ. But I also use synth sounds.
2) I can't spend over $750.
Given your budget, your best bet would probably be the keyboard. Something like a Roland Juno or a Korg X50 would meet your requirements and give you a good mix of sounds. If later you wanted to expand your sounds with a module, you could control it with the keyboard. You could even set up a rack box with a line mixer & multiple sound modules, but keep in mind having all those sounds available can be great, but keeping track of everything (midi cables, levels, channels, ect.) in a live situation can get tricky. I've tried this when playing live & have found that usually the simplest approach is the most reliable. Now I just use 2 keyboards independently.
