Constant Voltage Diode
LED Voltage is not constant and gradually decreases?
I used to think that LEDs work on the fixed Voltage. I applied 6V to a 3V diode but it lighted! Moreover it was bright! But the brightness gradually decreased! To Figure out the problem, I measured the Voltage and the Current! Resulted that they both gradually decreased! What might be the solution???
if you just applied 6v directly to the LED then you broke it.
you need to limit the amount of current going into an LED.
Check the data sheet for the max current it can take. it is probably between 25-30mA unless it is some high power LED

I'm wanting to get .08v to .1v from my 12 volt car battery.?
I'm going to send this lowered voltage to my oxygen sensor to cause a slightly leaner opperation. I'm placing a diode after my sensor and rich/lean guage; on the opposite side of the diode will be the .08 to .1 volts constant. I need to know how many ohms resistance is needed
The oxygen sensor opperates from 12 volts sending from 0 to .45 volts to the computer. The higher the voltage the leaner the fuel/air mixture.
