In this book, the design of InGaN LDs structures including multi quantum wells (MQWs) active region device are described and investigated by integrated system engineering technology computer aided design (ISE TCAD) device simulator. The parameters of the LDs structures are varied and optimized for high performance. This optimization study involves aspects such as thickness of active region, doping, thickness of stopper layer region, thickness of quantum wells and quantum barriers, number of quantum wells and several approaches to improve and achieve high efficiency, low threshold current and high output power of InGaN LDs. POLICE VISOR STROBE

Strobes are the device used to produce the regular flashes of light in regular time interval. They are generally of two types.

  1. Continuous type strobe light
  2. Flashing type strobe light

Both are strobes but are used for different purpose and is differently made. Police visor strobes are the type of flashing type strobe. They work at low voltage and produce high intensity flashes. They are often combined with siren to show patrolling or emergency situation.

Flashing type strobes such as Police visor strobe are also used in ambulance to show the emergency condition. Some of the visor is gas discharge strobes they are heavy but have longer wavelength flashes. Colored flashes can be designed in police visor type strobe with the help of colored gels. The flash reaches the temperature of 5600 Kelvin to produce a colored light. Thermostat is incorporated with it to maintain the functional range of temperature for particular wavelength of light.

The time of discharging the flash is in microseconds but the energy produce in a single flash is about 20 joules to 150 joules. During the act of some emergency police visor type strobes are used to produce flashes that indicate warning signals or emergency.

Police visor strobes light are generally combination of red and blue colour. This is due to the fact that Red light has the longest wavelength and blue have the shortest wavelength but strongest effect. So combination of both leads it to be distinctly visible from far places. In this mean it generates the signal to leave way for patrolling vehicle or in the case of emergency.

In police visor strobe light, the light source may be a light emitting diode (LED) or a xenon flash lamp. Sometimes, Police visor strobe lights are also made by combination of both LED and Xenon flash lamp. This enhances the generation of warning signals as well as stimulates the high visibility due to xenon flash lamp in dark condition. While chasing some culprit it may help to track down its movement.

In police visor strobe light, generally an LED is embedded in circuit with a thermostat which only regulates the heat level  and make it glow to desired color. Gels are also used with it to generate the colored illumination.

Police visor strobes light are also made with some LED that has capability to produce infrared radiation. These type of police visor strobes are highly used for infrared visibility during the time of heavy fog or complete darkness.

There are many types of Police visor strobe light. Some of them include LED high power strobe, LED Laser strobe, LED tow truck strobe etc. Each one is used for different purpose and each is used to indicate different signal for different vehicles. For ambulance,  it speaks emergency and for police vehicle, it signifies warning signals. This helps in recognition of police and ambulance easily in heavy traffic.

The urgency of the journey can be seen by the other drivers on the road. But it may be dangerous too. Photosensitive epilepsy and photo-taxis are some problem with few drivers on road. Sometime the glare of flash may lead to convulsion which may lead to accident of some other driver on road.

Different color of  police visor strobe light   have different meaning such as Red shows emergency, yellow shows some construction work  vehicle while white is assigned for fueling tankers etc. similarly blue is assigned for law enforcement vehicle in many countries.

With the revolution in technology, quartz halogen and incandescent bulbs are also used now a days in Police visor strobe lights.
