Base Digital Readout

anyone seen where I can purchase a coffee mug that plugs into the cigarette lighter to keep coffee hot?

I found one at a garage sale. Need another one. The bottom plugs into the cigarette lighter then the cup fits into the base. There is a digital readout on the cup to tell you level of hotness. Help I need one This one stopped working

Wal-Mart may have them as well, in the travel/camping section. They sell 12V plug-in coolers and such- look in that area for the mugs.

Monitoring Motor Currents - Alarm if current rises above a certain level.?

I need a reasonalby cheap and easy solution to monitor current in three phase motors. I have several motors to monitor. Measuring one phase is sufficient. I would like an off the shelf solution if possible. Also, being able to monitor and log the currents using a PC would also be good. I do not need high precision. I would consider any advice from a simple current threshold alarm to a more fancy solution (digital current readout with alarm, PC based, etc.). This must be CT (Current Transformer) or Hall effect based though, no rewiring.

Background of application: the motors are pumping fluid. If the pump becomes restricted or clogged, the motor is overburdeoned, locks up and fails. These are $500-$1000 motors so that gets expensive. Current is 30A or less, and I believe it is 208V

Do you need to monitor these motors currents, or do you simply need a circuit breaker to shut them down if they overload?

It would seem to me that what you are trying to do is save these motors from burning out and costing you $1000 for replacement.

If you simply monitor them, you will find from the print out that they overloaded and burned out.

Its too late then.

I personally would go for the low tech way by simply putting the supply through circuit breakers that just cope with the rated supply current.

In the event of an overload , the system simply shuts down and nothing is damaged.

It is of course a simply matter to incorporate an alarm such as locking relay system to give an alarm should one motor be turned off.
