Axis Driver
Why do my bar plots look messy with R?
When I am doing bar plots with R, they never look quite right. The labels do not appear where they belong and the bars are not at the right distance from the y-axis. Does anyone know what is wrong?
I am using R 2.3.1 on MacOSX (graph driver is Quartz).
I noticed :~(

What makes a calm passive person evolve into angry answer man when he is behind the wheel of a vehicle?
Is this only a male phenomenon? My husband is determined to verbally reprimand & remind every driver in his viewing space that they've forgotten to put on their turning signal, or some other "Yes, it's important, but not vital to the world spinning on it's axis" issue. Of course the other drivers never get the benefit of my precious husbands tirade, only I do! It doesn't improve anyones driving skills and it can (if I'm not well prepared with extra patience) ruin a really nice afternoon together. Is my husband the only person to do this? He is typically a very calm, non talkative person. But other people's driving mistakes send him over the edge. I'd hate to have him driving behind me, and always pray that who ever might be behind me, be more understanding and accept my smile and waved apologies when they are necessary. What is up with this? Can it be trained out of them?
Two things, I think. Power. Being in a car more or less puts you on equal footing with everyone. Seeing a driver with road rage suggests that he/she is a person normally feels inadequate (either in physical strength or in the ability to spar verbally). Intelligence. The rules of the road are simple, so when you see another person make a mistake the driver with road rage can pretty easily be "right" and wishes to assert that. If I am faced with road rage I usually yell out "Sorry, I can only hope to someday be as perfect a driver as you."
