Axis Align Lens
toric contact lens change: I want to change to a different brand with diff paramaters.?
Hi there, currently I'm using PureVision Toric lens with my prescription of:
Power -5.25, Cylinder: -2.75 , Axis: 180 on both eyes.
The parameters for the PureVision lens I'm currently using is:
Base Curve 8.7, Diameter 14.0, but the Cylinder can only go up to -2.25.
I found another brand called "Soflens Toric" with the parameters of:
Base Curve 8.5. Diameter 14.5, however, the Cylinder can go up to my -2.75.
Right now, the PureVision brand I'm using keeps getting misaligned and blurry, very annoying. Will the change to the Soflens make it any better since the Cylinder can go up to -2.75 which is more aligned with my prescription?
Also how about this brand? Encore Toric XR with parameters:
Base Curve 8.6 Diameter 14.4, and can also go up to -2.75, but double the price of the Soflens.

Torics are even trickier to fit in those higher powers.
The only way to know if another brand will work for you is to have a trial fitting at your Dr.
Usually it is better to not correct the CYL to the fullest anyway , but the fact yours are blurry means you should be fit with something else, but no one can guess which brand will work better.
Yours are probably turning off axis, even tho the power may be perfect.
