Align Lens
CD DRIVE PROBLEM,lens may need to be cleaned. Please Help if you know about it. Thanks!?
I have a problem with my disk drive(LITE-ON IT CORP CD-RW/DVD-ROM DRIVE MODEL #DH-52C2P).The drive will not read disks, but When I put a disk in the green light flashes like it is reading it, also it maybe reading it, but nothing pops up, and in My Computer, the drive isn't even shown in there. When I go to Hardwar emanager or something like that, it shows a Maxtor disc drive. I've been having this drive in my computer since December, but I took it out to re-align the slider on the side of it, because it had been displaced. It's plug and play, and I know it's working because the green light, but it won't show up on my pc, and all the wires are hooked up. Also it may not show up because it can't detect that theres a disk, so how could I clean the lens if its way back there in a narrow space?
I use Windows XP, so it shouldn't be that problem.
Well... The light has to do with the mechanical interworkings. As long as there is power that should act normally. Check the wiring for one.
Theres something else.. If its windows vista you could be experiencing problems with upper/lower filters.
to fix that you must press winkey+r and type regedit then hit enter.
navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>system>
CurrentControlSet>
Control>Class>
{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
within that listing delete: Upperfilters and lowerfilters listings
Now find the device in device manager and right click on it. Select Uninstall.
Restart the computer and it will now work.. as long as that was the problem.

The rod is beveled and only extends through the hole a specific amount. Thus the rod inserted through the driver hole will extend much further than when the rod is inserted through the wedge hole. How can I fix my Canon SD600 digital camera so that its lense will retract again?
I dropped my camera and the lens will no longer retract.. Furthermore, when i look into the lens, it seems like something is not aligned anymore. I do not know the technical term for it, but i guess it is where the light goes in (shutter? aperature?). Help?
Try going to the Canon website. I had to go there for answers to my Canon Powershot S3. Also, try DigitalCameraHQ website. You will find your exact camera and people who have them who will help answer any questions.
