Lasers and their output power?

Ok, so im getting a green laser for christmas. I already have one, but that's only 5mw, im thinking to upgrade alot higher. I'm thinking 80mw, but i want to be able to burn things. Is 80mw enough for a green laser to burn something? What must the power be do atleast pop a balloon? As i do realize lasers like these are not a toy, i am a bit worried at where i shine it. For instance, what if i were to shine it at a tree? Would it catch fire? Any help would be much apreciated.
Alright, so i play around with my 5mw laser and shine it my own eyes all the time. Obviously, this can't be the same.But with reflective surfaces, is it really that dangerous? I mean, if im worried that it might reflect in someones eye should i just get a 60mw one? Which also lets me ask, what is the minimum power that would allow me to say,pop a balloon or light a match?

These are extremely dangerous. If a laser is powerful enough to burn something, that means a reflected beam can do permanent eye damage in a fraction of a second. Chance of a tree catching fire is minor compared to these other problems.

These should be used only in a closed room with no windows and anyone present wearing goggles designed for this laser.

The problem is that any reflection off any shiny surface can still be dangerous. That reflection can travel through a window and hit a pedestrian outslde and cause permanent eye damage. Even a pilot in an aircraft overhead can be blinded.
