Lens Mount Attached Is it safe to store my DSLR in its case with the lens attached?
I have a soft (but durable and well protecting) case for my Canon Digital Rebel xti. It holds the body as well as two lenses. Usually I mount the lens right before I take my first photo, but it takes time and I usually end up missing good photo ops while I prepare my camera.
If I leave the lens mounted, and place the camera in my case, will it be safe? Will this hurt the body or the lens?
You should, in fact, get in the habit of leaving a lens on your camera. You will find that you have a favorite lens that will more or less live on your camera to be ready for those quick shots.
Taking the lens off exposes the sensor and other internal components to dust, which can be a real problem with digital cameras. The more you take the lens off, the greater the risk of dust-related problems.
The lens mount is very durable. Look at a camera on a tripod. The lens mount is the only thing supporting that lens, which can sometimes weigh as much as two pounds. In fact, if they get much over two pounds, you will find that the lens has a tripod mount and the lens is actually designed to support the camera. The thing is, it's the same lens mount on the camera ALL THE TIME doing all the supporting and it's designed to take this.
If you have the basic Canon XTi kit lens, the lens has a polycarbonate (fancy plastic) mounting ring that will wear out sooner if you keep taking it off of your camera at the end of every day. Just leave it in place. They are designed for this.

Wanting to know because I'm getting an od green p22, and with the black viridian laser, it looks damn good. So is it worth the little more you pay, and does it work/fit the way it should? What do you mean? The LED will glow when theres a "continuity" between two terminals. And if there is a resistance, you can read the value in ohms. My tester don't have that LED continuity indicator but I remembered that even in higher resistance the glow and brightness of the LED does not change. The LED is connected in a transistor switch. So even if you pull out the LED you can still test for continuity and it does not alter the tester's reading...
I'm sorry I just figure out that you are refering to a different tester, not a multitester. I don't know if it is LED since we can also use it in alternating current, and LED don't normally work on AC and if it is LED you will need a diode in series and a dropping resistor depending on the voltage rating of the LED. Use ohms law..
